Opening of the MBAL x RHNe exhibition at the Réseau hospitalier neuchâtelois (RHNe), in La Chaux-de-Fonds, which presents the work of photographer Lea Kunz.
The Réseau hospitalier neuchâtelois (RHNe) has partnered with MBAL to organise an art installation dedicated to the field of health. The objective is twofold: to reinforce the vocation of the hospital sites as a place to live and to allow the MBAL to go beyond its walls to reach a wider public.
Lea Kunz’s project is directly inspired by flower arrangements, in order to avoid a too direct link with the theme of medicine and to take patients, staff and visitors of the hospitals out of their daily lives. Like an exquisite corpse, ideas for original, personal and/or funny flower arrangements will be collected from people wishing to participate in the project, with the help of the photographer. These arrangements will then be constructed and photographed in her studio. Curiosity and astonishment will be an integral part of the work, as one wonders what the combination of a sunflower, a strip of tape and a personal object on a burning purple background can achieve.
A selection of approximately twenty photographs will be exhibited in the Pourtalès hospital in Neuchâtel and the La Chaux-de-Fonds hospital in the summer of 2023.
