Amélie Strobino is a freelance illustrator and comic book artist based in Carouge, Geneva. Born in 1992, she has a degree in visual communication from HEAD-Geneva and in illustration and comics from CFP Arts. Her artistic activity is made up of commissions and personal projects. After being nominated for the 2015 Töpffer Prizes, Tsarvaî, her first album, was published by Hélice Hélas Éditeur in 2017. In 2021, she was awarded a grant from the City and Canton of Geneva to help with the creation of her children’s comic strip Pourquoi les vouivres raffolent des myrtilles, published by Helvetiq in 2023. Amélie will be present at The MBAL’s Christmas Market with a selection of custom-framed original drawings, high-quality prints of her illustrations, handmade cards and notebooks, her comic strip albums, and several textile projects.
Cristina Bleuler is fascinated by the intrinsic beauty of timeless objects. While trends come and go, exclusive materials find their way into ANDMEMORIES, a project in which Cristina gives a voice to forgotten treasures. I open up a stage for crafts from the past and bring them back to life. All my editions are unique; each piece and each series is one of a kind – limited to time and space.
L’AmiKette makes the kind of tangy bonbons we love, but in a natural version ! Real fruit that fizzes to make you love sweets even more ! But don’t worry, they’re allowed because they’re made with just 3 ingredients: fruit, sugar and citric acid. 100% made in Lausanne, Switzerland, the name L’AmiKette is a nod to the kiosk of the founders childhood called ‘La Miquette’.
L’Atelier de la Girafe is hidden away in a kitchen in the Brévine valley. Estelle Vuille Ngaide, a woman from La Chaux-du-Milieu, has decided to launch a range of handmade products that will be available on social networks and at craft markets.
Christophe Corbaz, an artisan metalworker based in La Chaux-de-Fonds, makes decorative and everyday objects with wrought iron.
The Broddgöltur brand offers handmade objects in Switzerland from recycled materials, with respect for the environment and natural resources. Wood, paper and textiles are upcycled into unique creations !
Crack’Hearth offers aperitif sticks in a variety of tastes and colours made from fruit and vegetable powder, with unique flavours such as raspberry, rosemary and pesto for a unique taste experience. Designed to encourage sharing and conviviality, they add a touch of originality to your convivial moments while also being an eco-responsible product.
Since 2018, Emuska has been transporting you into its unique world. Inspired by the present moment, she creates and embroiders with plenitude in her workshop located in Neuchâtel. Beads, sequins, textiles and specific materials are meticulously chosen for their particular rendering so that each embroidered piece enhances a particular style of clothing and sublimates this fascinating savoir-faire. Intrigue, innovation and risk-taking punctuate each of these creations.
Humus Records is a label from Neuchâtel dedicated to promoting Swiss alternative artists. Focused on unique, hand-crafted productions, it supports musical projects of all kinds, often marked by sonic experimentation and interdisciplinary collaborations. The label’s flagship artists include Louis Jucker, Elie Zoé, Coilguns and Alain Roche.
In her work, Yaeka Tabara is interested in the forms found in animation. She is also influenced by her native Japanese culture. In her work, the small characters, reminiscent of dreamlike animal forms, plunge us into a fantastic universe, where our imaginations can bring these strange shapes to life.
Nathalie Schwab makes solid body soaps, animal soaps and household soaps using the cold saponification method.
A woodturner by passion, Olivier Schmid has been indulging his woodturning hobby in the evenings and at weekends for several years. Trained in woodworking, he has discovered an exciting technique that allows him to give free rein to his creativity. He’ll be delighted to show you some of the objects he makes at the MBAL’s Christmas market.
Oyna, Spiel, Play, Joue! At OYNA, playing is serious business. All our wooden toys are handmade in a small family workshop in Dalaman, in south-west Turkey. Each piece is carefully designed, carved, sanded and hand-painted with natural colours. Assembly and quality control are carried out in Switzerland to guarantee unique playtime fun for babies and toddlers.
Socha.Creations are colourful crochet creations made in Geneva. Inspired by nature, Socha crochets a variety of flowers, some of which are made petal by petal for a more authentic look. The cotton thread used also gives them a durable look.
Passionate about jewellery design, Sonia Souto is the founder of Solma Bijoux, a brand that combines authenticity and expertise in the handcrafting of unique jewellery in Miyuki and seed beads. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted, creating delicate, original pieces that enhance every style with elegance and originality.
Initially, Studio mirettes offered shaped ceramics in black stoneware, particularly appreciated for their voluptuous shapes and raw appearance. With this new collection, the creations are dynamic and adorned with Tenmoku glazes inspired by Japanese tradition.
