Rhythmic Suites
The Museum of Fine Arts Le Locle is marking the 80th birthday of Swiss artist André Evrard by dedicating a tribute exhibition to him. This exhibition combines paintings and engravings. Over his long career, André Evrard has built up a seamless and remarkably unified body of work that is both meticulous and assertive. The slow, controlled evolution of his compositions gives us a glimpse of his strong attraction to the rhythms and beats of classical and minimalist music. Their characteristic repetitions are also found in the continual variations in his work, driven by the creative energy of this music-loving artist. This exhibition covers 40 years of his work.
